Artist Statement

Most of my photos are taken close to my home in Massachusetts. I continually return to my favorite locations and always see something different. My subjects show the transience of nature: ice transforms overnight, plants grow and die, and light highlights something making the ordinary extraordinary. When I'm photographing, I often escape into another world. When hours go by it seems like minutes, and I know something special is happening.

There is so much beauty in the seemingly ordinary when you look closely. I have learned from my photography to see the beauty and variety in nature and I hope my viewers are also inspired to look closer.
